2. EWWW Image Optimizer
EWWW Image Optimizer uses optipng, pngquant, jpegtran, and other free tools for efficient compression of images. These functions are included in the distribution in the form of plug-in executable files and run the plugin via PHP function
exec(), which many web hosting providers disabled for safety reasons.
There is also a paid version available for EWWW WordPress Image Optimizer, which is somewhat similar to WP Smush. It uses an external service for compression and optimization which is more compatible with the hosting sites and does not create additional load time on your server. The cost of compression is – 0.5 cents per image for the first 1,000.
TinyPNG originally started out as an online service and APIs for developers to compress PNG images. Then TinyPNG developers created a version for JPEG images, and plugins for WordPress and Magento to automatically compress all the downloaded images using their online service.
The plug is enough to get an API key from TinyPNG site. It allows you to compress up to 500 images per month free of charge, as a rule, with all the miniatures, enough for 100 media files to WordPress. Paid access to the API starts at $ 0.009 per image.

Imagify is a service from the creators of the popular WordPress caching plugin WP Rocket, and well integrated into WordPress. Its trial version only supports 25 megabytes image optimization and paid version start at $ 5 per 1 GB of data per month, which is enough to compress 10,000 images according to the developer.
There are plenty more WordPress image compressor plugins which didn’t make this list. It is also worth mentioning that some hosting and CDN providers, or reverse proxy (such as CloudFlare, Incapsula, etc.) automatically compresses transmitted images and other files on the fly.
